Representation matters, and it is important to show the next generation of women and girls that careers in technology are possible and diverse, and that there is space for them within the industry.

Techcabal’s AUDACITY series profiles 50 women in the Lagos technology ecosystem from different backgrounds and at different stages of their technology careers.

The exhibition will be a multisensory experience that comprises portrait photography, abstract art, sculptural, interactive and digital elements. It opens on the 16th of March, 2019, International Women’s Day.

Team

Starting from September 2018, Techcabal worked with Rebecca Nwose and Kunmi Owopetu, Lagos-based portrait photographers, as well as Toni Aladekomo, a creative consultant to realise this project. A White Space Creative Agency helped design and implement the exhibition experience at Access Bank’s Africa Fintech Foundry.

Special thanks to Simi Lawoyin, Akua Nyame-Mensah, Nkiru Balonwu, Ibukun Jaiyeola, Adia Sowho, Emmanuel Quartey, Mohini Ufeli, Logor, Ayodeji Rotinwa, and thank you to all of the women featured in the series for taking the time to be photographed and interviewed.
